Andrey + Maya’s Story
When you listen to some love stories, you will get rid of some general assumptions associated with online dating platforms. The story of this beautiful couple: Andrey and Maya’s story is one everyone would like. Andrey and Maya found love in one of the acclaimed “Impossible” platforms out there. They found one another, fell in love, nurtured it, and ensured it grew into something beautiful and exciting.
Maya and Andrey met on the Tinder app in 2016. They had talked for about a week before meeting for drinks one evening in the neighborhood where they would end up getting an apartment together a year later.
According to Maya, they went to The Cloisters museum at the Met in Fort Tryon Park. After seeing the art and spending time in the gardens, they stepped out to enjoy views of the Hudson River where Andrey took a box out of his pocket revealing a sparkly rose gold ring and asked her to marry him.
Just A Love Story had a model call for real couples who were planning on getting married in July. We wanted to give them the gift of a wedding. We fell in love with Maya and Andrey who had planned a simple City Hall ceremony with a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. Most of their family lived out of the country and having an elaborate wedding was not going to be possible. We planned a ceremony for them at the location of their choice, Central Park.
Although the ceremony was simple, it was special for them. There were fireflies surrounding the couple who are animal lovers and seeing a family of racoons cross the river where the ceremony took place was a sign of a good omen. The setting was a perfect combination of nature and beautiful architecture. Family and couples’ portraits were done at the Bethesda Terrace where a musician was played Brazilian bossa nova – the perfect soundtrack to the night.
“I’m left with fond memories of a special event that would have otherwise (if we had gone with our original plans) simply been referred to as a calendar date.” – Maya
